Realtor Day

New classroom transformations can be so exciting! First up is the Realtor Classroom Transformation. In this transformation, your students become realtors for the day. Their mission is to “sell” all the houses, or rather solve 10 realtor-themed academic challenges. There are realtor posters and banners included for you to hang around your room to make it truly feel like a neighborhood. Kids are so excited to experience a new career for the day, they don’t realize they’re practicing real-world concepts as they complete the transformation.

What I love to do to prepare my students for a classroom transformation is give them an admission ticket the day before the transformation. These tickets “grant” them access to the transformed classroom the next day. Students adore having something to hold onto that reminds them of the transformation, and it is also a great talking point with parents at home. Along with a number of other decorations, these tickets are included in the transformation for you.

The Floor is Lava

Watch where you step because the floor has turned to lava during The Floor is Lava Classroom Transformation! Your classroom has been filled with lava and your students must solve 10 lava-themed academic challenges to avoid being “burned.” Everyone has played the “floor is lava” game at home. In this new classroom transformation idea, you get to do the same while your students practice their academic skills for state testing.

How exactly do you transform your classroom into a lava-filled obstacle course? Start by hanging up the provided volcano posters and banners on your door and walls. These tell students what the day is about. Then designate a certain area of your classroom as “lava,” which your kids can’t walk on for the day. I like to layout red tablecloths on the ground. Room transformations are awesome because no matter how much effort you put into the decorations, they always turn out fun.

Party Planner Day

You may not think “school” and “party” belong in the same sentence, but the Party Planner Classroom Transformation erases all doubt. Students become party planners during this transformation as they solve 10 party-themed academic challenges around the room. They get to wear cute party hats and walk through a door decorated with streamers. All the while, they are building essential math and reading skills.

Unable to complete a transformation in your real classroom? No problem. All classroom transformations come with a digital version so that you are able to create a fun experience for your students online as well as in person. Pull up your party challenges on Google Slides and let your students take turns solving them, playing party music in the background the entire time. New classroom transformations always engage students and keep them focused on learning!

Pilot Day

Another room transformation you might not have heard about is the Pilot Classroom Transformation. This transformation not only teaches your students math and reading concepts but also introduces them to different countries as they “fly” around the world. By the end of the day, your kids will feel like seasoned pilots without having to ever leave the classroom.

If you’re worried about keeping organized throughout your room transformation, I have just the thing for you. The Pilot Classroom Transformation, along with all others, comes with customized folder inserts. Have your students stick them in folders designated for room transformations and keep all their completed challenges inside. New classroom transformations can be easier to complete when you stay organized.

Zoo Day

The Zoo Classroom Transformation is such a blast to experience. Students become zookeepers for the day as they try to find all the escaped zoo animals. Or rather, solve a variety of task cards laid out around the classroom. Each challenge contains a different animal picture. To enhance this transformation, hang up the zoo signs on your door and walls or even buy fun animal masks for your students.

In case you ever need to customize anything to better fit the needs of your classroom, all classroom transformations have been made editable. Haven’t gone over a certain math or reading concept yet? Edit the zoo task cards to fit your current lesson. Whether you decide to keep it the same or customize it, the transformation remains just as engaging.

Firefighter Day

Students become firefighters for the day during the Firefighter Classroom Transformation. Setting up this transformation is surprisingly simple. You can bring common items from your house, like hoses and boots to really bring this transformation to life. Your kids will be solving 10 firefighter-themed challenges around the classroom in order to put out fires.

What do you do once the transformation is over? A great incentive for your kids to finish is a reward of some kind. For the Firefighter Classroom Transformation, I usually give out firefighter pencils, homework passes, cute erasers, or other small trinkets. If you can get a prize related to the theme, your kids will be extra motivated.

Weather Day

The line between mathematicians and meteorologists blurs during the Weather Classroom Transformation. New classroom transformations like Weather Day keep students on task while having fun at the same time. During this transformation, students work to solve 10 weather-themed academic challenges. Your classroom is transformed to showcase all different kinds of weather. From sun to snow to rain, students will have plenty to keep them busy!

Do you have students who finish worksheets long before the others? How about a fast finisher activity for students so they don’t get bored? There are QR code posters provided for you in both print and digital form which you can hang around the classroom. Early finishers scan these using a device, which leads them to a fun fact about the theme of the day–in this case, the weather. And if you prefer a non-digital version, you can simply print out the fun fact posters to hang around your room.

Artist Day

All creative students will fall in love with the Artist Classroom Transformation. Your classroom transforms into an art studio in which your students complete a variety of artist-themed academic challenges. You can really get creative when combining art with content-based skills. Have your students use colored pencils instead of regular, or wear cute berets throughout the day to feel like real artists.

Every time students finish a challenge, let them color in the part of the recording sheet they completed. Some years, I have students do this with markers or crayons. And some years, I pull out washable paint and let them paint their recording sheet as they go. When students finish all ten challenges, their recording sheet will be completely colored in.

Grocery Store Day

The Grocery Store Classroom Transformation is another obscure transformation, but just as fun as the others. Students work to buy all their groceries by solving different task cards laid out around the room. There are shopping signs and posters included for you to hang around your classroom, which makes it feel like a real grocery store for the day. Students carry around a plastic grocery bag and complete each academic challenge. Then, they put it in their shopping bag once it’s been checked by the teacher.

Get your students extra engaged by using the provided name tags in the transformation. You can edit the grocery store name tags to say each of your students’ names, print them out, and allow your kids to wear them throughout the day. This fun extra is perfect for the Grocery Store Classroom Transformation.

As your kids solve 10 royal-themed academic challenges, they get to become kings and queens in a castle! Whatever concept your students are studying, this transformation provides an enriching experience to help them learn.

Every king and queen needs a crown! The Royal Classroom Transformation, as well as every other transformation, comes with themed paper hats for your students. For this transformation, there are a number of different hats included, such as regular caps or exquisite crowns. Try them out! They’re all included.
